Supporting FIFA World Cup Operations at Houston Stadium

FIFA in Houston Stadium

Smart City Networks was honored to support FIFA World Cup operations at Houston Stadium, providing the communications infrastructure needed to help host seven FIFA World Cup matches on one of the world’s largest sporting stages.

While fans experienced the energy and excitement of match day, the work behind the scenes began long before the first whistle. Smart City Networks team members supported a 53-day operational period that included planning, infrastructure deployment, testing, accreditation activities, venue readiness, match operations, and post-event support.

Throughout the project, our team designed, deployed, and supported connectivity solutions across multiple operational areas of the venue. This included wireless connectivity in the Public Screening Areas, hardline network connections at stadium turnstiles to support ticketing and access control operations, and wired and wireless services at the Accreditation Center for event staff, media, and key stakeholders.

Smart City Networks also provided connectivity support for FIFA Films, infotainment systems, and other key operational functions throughout the venue. Each of these services played an important role in helping support the broader event operation, keeping teams connected and critical systems running throughout the tournament.

Delivering that level of support required close coordination with FIFA, venue management, and event partners. It also required extensive preparation, technical expertise, and the ability to adapt quickly in a high-profile, high-demand environment.

The success of this effort reflects the dedication and commitment of the Smart City Networks team. Their work helped support fan entry, accreditation, media operations, event production, and many of the behind-the-scenes systems that contribute to a world-class event experience.

Thank you to the team members who helped make this project possible:
