Smart City Networks Celebrates Rookies of the Year and G.O.A.Ts!

Smart City Networks is grateful for an incredible 2022. It was a year of significant growth and fantastic events in our partnered convention centers across the country. The end of December saw our annual General Managers Meeting, which gathers our General Managers and Executives to reflect on the previous year while also casting an eye toward the future.

This year was particularly special for this event as it was the first time since the Pandemic started that we could all gather safely in one place. One of our core business principles has always been ‘It’s the People,” and that has always meant that our teams are filled with hardworking, dedicated individuals who embody Smart City’s core values. At one point in our General Managers Meeting, we took the time to highlight our team’s extraordinary accomplishments and wanted to share a few of them today.

One of our big projects this year has been prepping for the 2023 Super Bowl in Phoenix. This has required the construction of a new DAS to provide excellent and state-of-the-art service in Phoenix for February’s big game. We awarded our Teams Work award to the team behind this project. They all received G.O.A.T. necklaces because they’re all truly the Greatest of All Time (move over Brady…). Todd Zuccato, Julia Slocombe, David Langford, Jim Snook, and Jackie Miller have all gone above and beyond while working on this project, and we thank them for their hard work!

This year’s Tenacity Award went to the team responsible for our GRT Wi-Fi Management Project. It was a big undertaking, but we couldn’t be happier with its result. Congratulations to Jen Way, Rob Cartagine, and Eric Mowrey, and thank you for your dedication!

And finally, we wanted to give a special shoutout to our Rookies of the Year. Most of these individuals aren’t necessarily new to the Smart City family, but they started new positions within our company and have completely knocked it out of the park. Their determination and drive deserve special recognition (and funny-looking hats!). So, thank you to our new General Managers Enric Escuer, Rey Crespo, and Antoinette Ibarra. Thank you to our new director of Marketing & QA, Sarah Finnegan. Thank you to our NOC Manager Alexus Gammage and thank you to Project Manager Stephen Whitley.

Again, 2022 was an exceptional year for Smart City Networks, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
