Smart City Networks Month in Review: December 2022

And just like that, it’s 2023! Whenever a new year starts, one question seems to be at the forefront of conversation: “Where did the previous year go??” And it’s true. 2022 felt like the first typical year after the pandemic, so it would always feel quick. So as Smart City Networks gears up for a bright 2023, we wanted to make sure we reflected on December 2022 and all the great moments that came with it.

One of our main focuses in December was our General Managers Meeting. This was extremely special for our company. The General Managers Meeting is the time of year when our GMs from across the country can all gather to reflect on the previous year, celebrate significant milestones, and discuss and share new ideas for an even better future. This year’s meeting meant a lot to us, as it was the first time since 2019 that we could all meet safely. It felt great to gather our team from across the country in one space, and it felt like a family reuniting.

The GM Meeting covered a lot of ground. We took time to discuss the record-breaking 2022 our company experienced. We had extremely positive roundtables showcasing new tech trends/new marketing strategies/new policy changes. We took Rapport Leadership training and even had a group volunteer activity to help give back to our community. Overall, it was a huge success and a major highlight of 2022.

So that’s what happened at our corporate office in December, but what about out in the field? Event-wise, Smart City wrapped up 2022 with a series of fun, unique shows that put smiles on faces. Two of our favorites had to be the Los Angeles Comic Con at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the Almond Conference at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento. Comic cons always bring out the most creative people you can imagine, and seeing all the colorful costumes and dedicated fans made this Los Angeles Comic Con one of the best. And the Almond Conference is an event focused on bringing together hundreds of companies that further the almond industry. It’s the type of event Smart City loves, as it highlights an important industry that doesn’t get enough attention. Thank you to our teams at these convention centers who help make these events a success!
