A proven leader in providing connectivity services for the convention industry, Smart City Networks has been selected to continue providing event technology services in California at the Santa Clara Convention Center and in Kentucky at the Kentucky Exposition Center and the Kentucky International Convention Center.
As the facility’s longtime technology partner, Smart City Networks was awarded an exclusive 10-year contract by the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce to provide technology services, including network cabling, high-speed Internet access, WiFi, telephone and Neutral Host Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at the Santa Clara Convention Center, a complete event venue with over 300,000 square feet of meeting space in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Over the next few months, Smart City will begin an upgrade of the facility’s wireless network. It will modernize the wireless network by installing two Cisco wireless controllers and increase the number of access points from 29 to 60, providing higher density coverage for the WiFi system. Smart City will also build a Neutral Host Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to improve cellular connectivity.
Additionally, the Kentucky State Fair Board previously awarded its seven-year event technology contract for the Kentucky Exposition Center and the Kentucky International Convention Center to Smart City Networks. Smart City will offer wired and wireless networking services as well as serve as the preferred audio visual (AV) service provider for the facilities, which taken together boast over 1.3 million square feet of event space, plus two arenas and an outdoor demonstration area.
