Virginia Beach Convention Center names Smart City Networks as exclusive telecommunications provider

The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) recently announced that the Virginia Beach Convention Center (VBCC) has named Smart City Networks, as the exclusive telecommunications provider for the facility’s customers effective January 1, 2011. The deal marks a new standard for quality telecommunications and Internet service for the Virginia Beach convention and meeting industry.

“We are looking to deliver quality telecommunications service to our clients with an onsite service representative,” said Courtney Dyer, General Manager for the Virginia Beach Convention Center. “We are confident that Smart City Networks’ dedicated customer service and excellence in data, telecom and technical services will meet our clients’ event needs.”

Smart City has been providing services to convention centers throughout the nation for over 20 years and is proud to partner with the Virginia Beach Convention Center as the new exclusive provider of their data, networking and event technology needs. With the new addition of the VBCC, Smart City Networks can now boast to providing services to over 35 convention and meeting facilities nationwide including: Los Angeles Convention Center, Anaheim Convention Center, Las Vegas Convention Center, Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the Orange County Convention Center.

Led locally by George Cagle, General Manager for Technology Services, Smart City Networks will provide a dedicated, on-site technology resource to the VBCC to actively manage every customer’s technology experience. In addition, Smart City Networks will provide high-speed Internet access using Ethernet protocols to all exhibit spaces and meeting rooms, and turnkey data networking services such as local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks using the latest technology. Smart City Networks also provides a variety of wireless solutions including entry-level wireless service ideal for Web surfing scaling up to wireless buyouts for meeting and all exhibit spaces.
