Smart City Networks, the nation’s leading provider of internet, Wi-Fi, cellular telephone and other digital technologies for the convention industry, has appointed Jacki Miller vice president of finance and administration. She will work out of Smart City’s headquarters in Las Vegas.
In her new position, Miller will be responsible for Smart City’s company-wide financial and administrative objectives, policies and human resources. Her appointment comes at a critical time, as the company looks to extend a long period of responsible growth founded on sound financial decisions.
Miller comes to Smart City after serving for the past five years as senior vice president of finance and accounting at Switch Communications, one of the country’s largest developers and operators of data centers. Formerly, she held various finance and accounting posts with Acciona Solar Power, the Fontainebleau Resorts and resort developers in Hawaii after beginning her career with the Deloitte and Touche, one of the Big Four accounting firms.
“Jacki brings a wealth of ideas and knowledge to Smart City,” noted Smart City President Mark Haley, “Her impressive talents will be put to use in structuring the company’s systems and providing hands-on leadership that will be instrumental as Smart City maintains its momentum. We are fortunate to have her on the team.”
Haley noted that since 2014 the company has renewed or signed 19 new and/or existing contracts. In light of that growth in revenue and market share, Miller will be responsible for developing budgets and financial reports as well as overseeing the development of business intelligence efforts specific to the use of technology in the convention and meetings industry.
“This is an exciting time for the telecommunications industry in the meetings and conventions space. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Smart City team and to help continue setting the standard for the industry,” Miller said.
