Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks, announced today the company has been awarded an exclusive two-year contract with the Tampa Convention Center (TCC) in Tampa, Fla. Smart City Networks, the nation’s leading communications provider to convention centers and hospitality venues, will provide comprehensive telecommunications and Internet services for the venue’s international repertoire of events and trade shows.
Under the guidance of industry veteran Mitchell Hughes, Smart City will employ a team of dedicated telecommunications professionals at the TCC to aide in the delivery of the highest-quality telecommunications services, delivering on the company’s goal of providing technologies that make destinations smarter places to visit, work, live, and play.
“We are excited to provide the Tampa Convention Center with the technology needed to take their events to the next level,” said Haley. “We are committed to working closely with the TCC, ensuring that their guests receive the best in Internet and telecommunication services from our highly-experienced top-of-the-line team.”
The TCC opened in 1990, and has since been home to a variety of events. The 600,000 square-foot, four-floor facility hosts more than 300 events per year, including the GEOINT Symposium, the nation’s largest annual intelligence event, and METROCON, Florida’s largest anime convention. The venue also received national attention when it served as the media center for the 2012 Republican National Convention.
