The America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, Missouri, is the latest example of this commitment, receiving a major technological overhaul designed to enhance both exhibitor and attendee experiences.
New Upgrades at America’s Center Convention Complex
Thanks to Smart City Networks, the upgrade includes all-new core networking equipment, 48-port edge switches, and wireless access points (WAPs or APs). The core networking equipment acts as the brain of the network; routing millions of packets to ensure users can load websites, visit and post to their social media, email, and more. The edge switches connect servers, computers, exhibitor hard-wired connections, and the wireless access points. Wireless access points connect any wireless device to the network, including laptops, cell phones, smart TVs, lighting control, security cameras, and more—anything without a hard-wired network port. The network upgrade also provides redundancy where it counts, with Uninterrupted battery supplies (UPS), redundant core equipment, dual uplinks, and spares on standby to prevent unexpected downtime.
With the upgrade in St. Louis, America’s Center is now one of the most technologically advanced convention centers in the United States. The upgrade provides dual 10Gbps uplinks to all edge gear, offering a robust backbone for data transfer, internet surfing, live streaming, and everything in between! The wireless access points are WiFi 6 capable, allowing them to handle wireless devices more efficiently. The new upgrade at America’s Center will support over 20,000 concurrent devices without any wireless augmentation. Over 300 Cisco access points were installed to ensure everyone can stay connected at America’s Center.
Investing in technology upgrades also future proofs America’s Center. With technology changing so fast, the upgrade allows the convention center to stay ahead of trends that ensures the building remains relevant and capable of accommodating future technology demands.
