A Phenomenal October with Smart City Networks

October was a month to remember here at Smart City Networks as we collaborated with clients across the country, brought our team together to deliver seamless events, and celebrated the incredible people who make our work possible. As we reflect on the month, we’re excited to highlight how we remained committed to our business principles: serving our customers with excellence, recognizing our outstanding team members, and giving back to the communities that support us. Let’s dive into our October Highlights!

Business Principle #2: Do Right By All Our Customers

SIOP 2024 at the Hawai’i Convention Center
We were honored to support the Society of International Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) 2024 Conference at the Hawai’i Convention Center. This meaningful event brought together pediatric oncology professionals for four days of transformative science and networking. Our Hawai’i team ensured flawless connectivity, providing the foundation for smooth presentations, live demos, and engaging conversations. We were especially grateful for the heartfelt feedback from our client:

“This was one of the best Telecom experiences and service I have had during all my events. During all event days, everything worked perfectly. I received no complaints about the Wi-Fi, and the team checked in each morning to ensure everything was running smoothly. I really appreciate it and look forward to working with you again!”

A big shoutout to our amazing Hawai’i team, including Aria Watts, David King, and Christian Peterson, for making it all happen. We love being part of meaningful events like SIOP!

Adobe Max 2024 at the Miami Beach Convention Center
This month, we were thrilled to help bring Adobe Max 2024 to life at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Our dedicated Smart City Networks team flew in from all over the country to ensure seamless connectivity for this high-energy event celebrating creativity and innovation. By supporting Adobe Max, we underscored our commitment to delivering robust solutions and nationwide support for events of every scale.

FPA Annual Conference 2024 in Columbus
At the Greater Columbus Convention Center, we powered the Financial Planning Association’s Annual Conference with a network infrastructure designed to handle a busy schedule of sessions, exhibitor interactions, and networking among industry leaders. With 1,800 attendees and over 75 exhibitors, our team delivered a stable attendee network, a speaker-ready room, and dedicated VLANs for specialized meetings. The best part? Zero trouble calls and a happy client who shared,

“Everything went really well, and I’m so grateful for your partnership!”

Special thanks to Alexia Puckett and Mark Fullen for their dedication to making the event a success.

Business Principle #3: It’s the People

SCN Spotlight

Team Member Spotlight: Lily Piskunova
Meet Lily Piskunova, our talented Event Coordinator at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio! Lily began her journey as a Customer Service Representative and has grown into a role that’s vital to creating smooth event experiences. Recently, Lily shared her story, discussing what inspired her to join Smart City Networks, her favorite event moments, and the collaborative team spirit that fuels her passion. (Plus, she’s a fierce competitor on the Pickleball court!) We’re grateful for her contributions and can’t wait for you to get to know Lily even more! Check out her full spotlight here!

Celebrations and Fun
October was a month filled with celebrations! We honored team members with 10+ years of service, celebrated birthdays, and held a friendly chili cookoff at our corporate office, showcasing the creativity and culinary skills of our staff. These moments remind us that our team is the backbone of our entire organization and we love to celebrate them!

Business Principle #10: We Care and Give Back

Pink October in Orlando
Our Orlando team wrapped up a powerful Pink October at the Orange County Convention Center, where they went pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, our team donned pink shirts to raise awareness and honor fighters, survivors, and those who have passed. It was a meaningful way to come together, show solidarity, and make an impact on an important cause.

Community Involvement Across the Nation
As we gear up for our annual Month of Service in November, we’re proud to spotlight the community efforts our teams have already led. Our San Diego team, led by Matt Chavez, partnered with Operation Clean Sweep to beautify their local community. Meanwhile, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Guillermo Huerta and his team joined the Salvation Army to distribute food boxes to families in need. Rob Cartagine’s Software Development team in Florida also stepped up by volunteering with Feeding America, showing that our commitment to community runs deep. We’re looking forward to seeing all the ways our teams will give back in November!

Business Principle #5: Continually Improve Processes!

SCN Network Upgrade

Big shoutout to our incredible Network Operations Center (NOC) team for their tireless efforts in pulling off a major corporate network upgrade last week! After meticulous planning, they executed the project flawlessly (with the help of some caffeine and sugar, of course).

They worked hard to ensure our field had no downtime. They were diligent, and everyone pitched in to make sure things ran smoothly. Thank you NOC team for your dedication!

October was a month full of accomplishments, meaningful connections, and community involvement. From coast to coast, our Smart City Networks team showed up with dedication, expertise, and compassion. We’re proud of all we achieved this month and look forward to continuing our mission of delivering excellence, celebrating our people, and making a positive impact in the months to come. Thanks for the wonderful October Highlights!
