With the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games underway in Los Angeles, Smart City is proud to announce its technological support for the athletes, coaches, and volunteers that make up the event.
A Champion Silver sponsor of the event, Smart City will be providing special technology and WiFi support services at the Los Angeles Convention Center, as well as adding additional team members and bandwidth to ensure a great user experience.

Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the Special Olympics aims to create a world that is not dominated by those who are excluded but by those who are included.
This year’s world summer games feature more than 6,500 athletes and 2,00 coaches from 165 countries. 30,000 volunteers will be working around the clock to support the games, and an estimated 500,000 spectators will turn out to cheer on the athletes. The event is the single biggest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.
Venues throughout the area, including Athlete Villages at USC and UCLA, as well as the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, will be hosting athletes and competitions for the games. The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) will hold athletic competitions for badminton, bocce, handball, powerlifting, roller-skating, and table tennis, and nearby LA Live will host bowling competitions.
